Eddie Ellis, HRC Consultant
This training examines the elements necessary to construct a comprehensive needs assessment and discharge plan for people coming out of the prison system. It reviews the provision of community based social services that are culturally competent. It prepares and connects participants with the lives of people in prison, offering insights into the challenges and issues confronting soon to be released prison populations. It discusses the race, class and gender implications most often over looked in constructing such a plan and helps participants understand their significance. This training is intended to assist participants in developing accurate assessment skills and designing and evaluating successful discharge plans.
